Friday, March 1, 2013
The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office proudly announces that Deputy Shawn Wright has been selected as the February winner of the Challenge Coin Award. This award recognizes Corrections employees who, through their work ethic and actions, personify the attributes of leadership, creativity, honor and innovation. Deputy Wright works as a Maintenance Deputy in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center. The award is unique in that every new winner is selected by the current winner, making it truly a peer-to-peer award.
Shawn was nominated by Kendell Provost who received the same award last week. In his nomination letter, Kendell wrote, “Deputy Wright has proven more than once that he can go the extra mile for his fellow employees. After completing my FTO training Shawn took a personal note to get me to speed with shift work. Shawn made my transition that much easier by lending extra words of encouragement. Even with him being in another department, I won’t hesitate to call his name for assistance. ”
The Challenge Coin Award process now stipulates that Shawn identify and nominate the next award winner. Congratulations Deputy Shawn Wright on being recognized for a job well done!
