TREATMENT PROGRAMS
Treatment Programs is responsible for providing quality mental health services, substance abuse treatment and therapeutic programing to offenders incarcerated at the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center (LPCC) and the Direct Supervision Unit (DSU).
The goal of Treatment Programs is to provide services to offenders to help them cope with incarceration and prepare them for release.
The Treatment Programs team consists of a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, licensed and provisionally licensed mental health professionals and certified or licensed substance abuse counselors.
Therapeutic and rehabilitative groups are offered and designed to reduce recidivism by teaching offenders how to improve behavior, implement life skills and maintain positive mental health.
- KITE is a substance abuse class that focuses on changing criminal and addictive thinking patterns to decrease substance abuse and improve social functioning.
- Alcoholics Anonymous is a weekly group that promotes abstinence from drugs and alcohol using the 12-Step Approach.
