Major Kevin Savant, Uniformed Enforcement Division Commander
Major Kevin Savant started his career in the Corrections Division of the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office in 1994. He later attended the 81st class of the Acadiana Law Enforcement Training Academy and was soon thereafter transferred to the Enforcement Division.
Major Savant progressed his way through the ranks of the Enforcement Division serving as a Contract Services Deputy, Patrol Deputy, Patrol Sergeant, Watch Commander and Patrol Commander. He was a member of the Special Reaction Team (SWAT), has attended the Louisiana Attorney General Command College as well as numerous other professional development and leadership courses throughout his 28 years of service to the citizens of Lafayette Parish.
Major Savant is responsible for overseeing the functions of several sections of the agency, such as Uniformed Patrol, K9, Communications, the Community Services Unit and the School Resource Officer Program.
Major Savant is married and has three children, along with six grandchildren. He is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
